Quest Guide[]
The quest involves disarming magical traps scattered across a room in 5F of the Tutelary Forest, just before the boss room. There are a total of three traps to find, and the party is given a Mana Detector to assist with this, and 5 Mana Absorbers to disarm the traps. The Mana Detector will determine how many traps are adjacent to your party's position (orthogonally), but will not tell where exactly they are. If you have someone with the Detect Mana skill, you can not only determine how many are in proximity, but also in which direction.
Once you have an idea of where the trap is, move next to it (not onto it!) and place a Mana Absorber on the trap's position to attempt to disarm it. Mana Absorbers are one-use only, so you can make 2 mistakes before being forced to restart the quest. You can also intentionally step on the traps to detonate them, but this will result in 100 damage to the entire party and a smaller reward.
