Masters of the destructive forces of nature, these powerful mages crush all who oppose their might, and can cook a tasty treat in a matter of seconds.

The Alchemist (アルケミスト Alchemist in the Japanese version) is a specialized class that utilize the elements to dish out powerful magical strikes that crush enemies without the need to lay a finger on them. Dishing out spell after spell, these elemental masters crush everything in sight, and can even tap into ancient forbidden magic to annihilate their enemies with their sheer destructive force. Their mediocre health and defense paired with their long casting times make them ill-suited for the front-lines, making them excellent powerhouses from the back line.

Description Accomplished mages that can exploit an enemy's elemental weaknesses to the fullest, devastating them through lethal magical formulas. Along with their elemental prowess, they can poison enemies, slowly sapping their health until they fall over and die. Thanks to their advanced knowledge of the universe of magics, they can calculate the location of dangerous enemies, and even transfer their comrades to safety.
Strengths Lethal elemental capabilities that allow them to exploit and crush the enemy's weaknesses.
Weaknesses Low defense and HP, making them terrible for the front row. Can be difficult to use early on due to high TP costs without careful skill point distribution.

Description Alchemists exchange their former ability to inflict poison for a much better-condensed skill tree. Instead of improving focus with individual elements, their single Formula Mastery now unlocks skills for all three elements and empowers them equally. They also gain supportive buffs that further enhance their damage output by either wearing down on an enemy's elemental defenses or sharply amplifying damage done when striking a weakness.

Description Making a powerful comeback, the Alchemist employs a lethal set of new skills to add to their plentiful arsenal of lethal magic. With remastered forbidden magic, the Alchemist can unleash almighty magic attacks that torture enemies who are unlucky enough to get a taste of it's wrath. With enhanced focus, they can now focus their strongest magic against a single target, effectively dishing out devastating damage. With their high TP usage, they can unleash a new, powerful spell that becomes cheaper to use the more TP the Alchemist had expunged in the battle thus far. Along with new melee capabilities, they can unleash powerful elemental strikes against an enemy, followed up shortly after by a powerful burst of magical energy that compliments the element that struck the enemy beforehand.

Skills to generate and pass:

  • All Formulae: Grants other TEC-based party members, like Hexers and Medics, the ability to hit elemental weaknesses.
  • Analysis: Party members with elemental damage will benefit greatly from this buff. This is a particularly important skill against the Yggdrasil Core.
  • Focus: TP regeneration is always helpful.
  • Formula Mastery: What it really does is increase elemental damage from any of the user's skills, not just Formula skills.

Skills best used on an Alchemist:

  • Aegis, HP Up (Protector): Offsets their low HP somewhat and allows them to shake off untimely deaths.
  • Action Boost (Gunner): Combine with Analysis and any offense boost and watch the Alchemist lay waste to anything with a weakness.
  • Ailment/Bind Curses (Hexer): Utilize the high TEC and reasonable LUC growth of the Alchemist to also inflict ailments or binds if they don't need to do damage at the moment.

  • All Formulae: Other members with good TEC will appreciate the ability to dole out elemental damage when they don't need to support the team.
  • All Palms: Party members with good TEC on the front row can utilize these skills for cost-efficient elemental damage.

Skills best used on an Alchemist:

  • Penetrator (Gunner): Allows single-target Formulas and Palms to hit additional targets.
  • Double Action (Gunner): When it triggers, the result is massive amounts of elemental damage in a turn, usually enough to wipe out or greatly injure groups of enemies.
  • Ailment-inducing Curses (Hexer): Utilize their otherwise wasted Luck growth if the enemy is resistant to elements.
