The Deadly Durian is another fairly weak monster to be a distant memory moments after encountering. Until you fight another one, that is.

It somehow manages to have even less Attack than a Fanged Fish, but it is significantly more durable to low level parties. Its Thorn skill blinds one party member. But they truly can become a fairly big threat when coupled with a Titan Arum, as Decay Breath may inflict your party with Rotting Plague. It is recommended to take these out first in those situations.

Skills[]

  • Thorn (Uses Head): 70% chance to inflict Blind on a single party member.
  • Decay Breath (Uses head): Deals damage to the entire party and has a chance to give the plague ailment.

Drops[]

  • Green Thorn (Worth: 5 en)
  • None.

Conditional Drop[]

  • None.

  • The Deadly Durian (as well as the Rotten Fruit) seems to be based on the Tantankororin, an unharvested persimmon from Japanese mythology that becomes a monster.
