The Great Lynx is the weakest of the cat monster family, but should not be taken lightly on that account. They have a yellow pelt and distinct blue markings on their face. They can be found in Etrian Odyssey III and Etrian Odyssey IV.

Great Lynxes are first encountered on the 1st floor of the Waterfall Woods.
These enemies start appearing in the far western and eastern portions of B1F. Before reaching this point, the player has been only encountering the fairly easy Fanged Fish, Deadly Durians, and Forest Frogs, so the Great Lynx comes along as an incredibly dangerous threat.
They do immense amounts of damage when they are first introduced and can wreak even more havoc by using Bite Off, which does more damage than its normal attacks.
Fire works well on these felines; this weakness should be exploited.

The Great Lynx is a powerful monster first found in the Miasma Forest, and again on B1F and B2F of Misty Ravine. It is one of the most powerful monsters you can fight in that area and might be a significant challenge when first arriving in the area. The Great Lynx often travels alone, but sometimes can be found with other enemies such as the Forest Hare.
