All story missions are received from Senator Flowdia at the Via Senatus after reaching a certain floor or after being prompted to return to her to accept a mission. Usually you are unable to proceed any further in the Labyrinth until you have completed the current mission.

Early Missions[]

Prelude to the Forest[]

Anyone daring to survive as an explorer here in Armoroad must first pass the Senatus's official quest. You have been tasked with creating a map of the first floor.

This is the first mission you will receive before you are even able to enter the Labyrinth. It is fairly straightforward, and you only have to map a bit more than half of B1F. There will be a guard in sector D4 that impedes your progress until you explore the rest of the floor.

One you've mapped enough of the floor, return to the guard who will confirm if your mapping is sufficient. Report the results to gain 500en. Each party member earns 300 EXP.

After you've completed the mission, the rest of the game opens up — you can receive quests from the Butterfly Bistro, start sailing from the Inver Port, and purchase the all-important Ariadne Threads from Napier's Firm. Go back to the guard in B1F sector D4 and he'll let you pass to the rest of the labyrinth, and also hand you the Attack, Guard, and Flash Hammers that you can use to improve your weapons through forging.

Proof of Will[]

The Senatus wishes to gauge the strength of those plumbing the Labyrinth's depths. If you would answer their call, then defeat Narmer on B4F!

After arriving on B4F, take a few steps and speak with Kujura. He will not permit you further access until you return to Via Senatus to accept your second mission, which is to defeat Narmer. Once you do, he'll let you explore the rest of B4F and hand you a Medica II to help you along the way.

Once you've felled Narmer, you can go back to the Via Senatus to report the results. You gain 1500en and each party member earns 3000 EXP.

Danger in the Undersea Grotto[]

A woman calling herself Olympia has been seen frequently in the Undersea Grotto. Take her into custody and bring her to the Senatus!

After you've reached and explored B6F, you'll eventually run into Olympia who urges your party to explore the eastern half of the floor. Do so, and eventually you'll be lured into a dead end and cornered by three Sea Wanderers. However, the fish are easy to avoid, as they'll start circulating the room like they normally do. Weave past them and return to confront Olympia. She'll angrily crush a tree and retreat, and you have to return to Via Senatus to proceed. This makes the mission available, which you need to access the rest of the stratum.

Return to where Olympia was and you'll find a shortcut that leads to the stairs down to B7F. Right as you reach the next floor, Kujura will show you to the camp site where he's set up shop. He'll tell you of the sentries he's posted for the manhunt. Journey through B7F until you reach the southeastern staircase down to B8F - but your journey isn't quite over yet!

Down in B8F, there isn't a lot of room for exploration. Follow the path forward until you find another staircase leading back up to B7F. You'll emerge in uncharted territory. Explore the region, unlock the shortcut back to the camp site, and eventually you'll find another staircase going down to the northwestern section of B8F. You'll eventually corner Olympia in an isolated room, but she'll sic an Abyssal Death on you. Defeat it, and the Abyssal King will command her to stand down. He'll hand you a Sea Bead. Return to the campsite in B7F to report your findings to Kujura, and then turn in the mission back in town.

You'll tell Flowdia of what you found, and hand her the Sea Bead for further study. You gain 2000en and each party member earns 6000 EXP. The next mission will become available immediately.

Door to the Deep City[]

Use the Sea Bead to locate the enigmatic Oceanmaster Ketos. Meet and speak with this being to learn more about the Deep City, and, if need be, defeat it!

Take the Sea Bead to the central area of B6F. You should find a hidden passage into a tiny secret room with a fountain. The Sea Bead will stop the currents and permit you to access several chests that you couldn't before — but most importantly, you'll get to access another staircase in the southwest corner of B7F that leads down to B8F proper.

Travel to the end of B8F and defeat Ketos to gain access to the Deep City. You also have the option to promise not to speak of the Deep City, and when you're turning in the mission, the option to reveal the Deep City's location. The choices matter little for one going through the first playthrough, but saying "Yes" to both (that means making and breaking the promise) is crucial to the best ending of the game.

You gain 3000en and each party member earns 9000 EXP. You also have the Princess's Letter and can escort Edie's sister to the Deep City. Go there, present the letter and Gift to Abyssal King Seyfried, and get acquainted with the local townsfolk. Seyfried will permit you to use the town's facilities. The next mission also becomes immediately available.

Otherworldly visitors[]

The Deep City's raison d'etre is the war against the otherworldly Deep Ones. Enter the Hall of Convictions to learn about the threat these monsters pose.

As you accept this mission, Seyfried will unlock subclassing for your adventurers while you're at the Celestial Palace.

Travel down to the next stratum, the Molten Caves. Your objective is to reach the central room in B10F. It's a long trek, but eventually you'll reach a large open area filled with damage tiles. After you've mapped out the surroundings, walk across the tiles to the central area to find a door. Enter it, freshen up your party, and then step right next to the Moon Door. Olympia will immediately open the door and get you acquainted with the Eldest One. Watch out — he'll immediately sic a Deep Lady and Deep One on you!

Defeat his minions, and in the lull afterwards, tell him you mean no harm or wait quietly. Striking him again will put you in another fight, and it can be repeated until you choose the other two options. He'll wave you off, and Olympia will escort you out, now that you've beheld what the Deep City is up against. Return to Seyfried to learn more about the Yggdrasil, his mission against the Deep Ones, and the great evil that he's sealing away.

You gain 5000en, and each party member earns 13,000 EXP.

Seyfried will speak of an "invader" that has gone into the depths of the Molten Caverns. Journey down to B11F until you meet Kujura again. He'll urge you to return to Armoroad and speak to Flowdia, and will not allow you to pass until you do so. Report to her and tell her of the Deep City and the great evil, and Flowdia is confident that the strength of humanity can fight off the Deep Ones. Go back to Seyfried to deliver this message, and he'll scoff at her confidence. Once you go back to Kujura at B11F, two mutually exclusive missions will become available. Choose your side wisely.

Deep City Missions[]

From this point on, missions will be received from the Abyssal King in the Deep City. Flowdia will label you traitors and will not have any more missions for you, but you can still access all the other facilities at Armoroad.

Protect the Gatekeeper[]

The Gatekeeper guarding the portal between the Deep City and the lower reaches is a dangerous post. Ensure the Gatekeeper's safety.

Continue exploring the Molten Caverns until you reach the central chamber of B12F. You'll run into Kujura again, but his menacing aura paralyzes your party as he runs into the boss room. You give chase, but it turns out he's sabotaged the Gatekeeper and it's perceiving your party as a threat! You have no choice but to defeat the Gatekeeper and advance into the Abyssal Shrine to continue.

Olympia will forbid you from further exploration in B13F until you turn in the mission. Seyfried is a little disappointed in the outcome but urges you to not cry over spilled milk. You gain 7000en and each party member earns 17,000 EXP, and you also receive the Yggdroid Plans that unlocks the Yggdroid class.

Decipher the Shrine's mysteries[]

A facility used by the Abyssal King to communicate with Yggdrasil is somewhere in the Abyssal Shrine. Find that place and hear the voice of Yggdrasil.

Your task is to reach the northern room of B15F to commune with the Yggdrasil. Olympia will hand your party the Ibn Ghazi Powder that you need for this task. Once you reach the big open room in B15F, use the powder in the center of the northern wall for it to take effect. You'll receive knowledge from the tree itself... and it'll inform you that there's someone in Armoroad that's been corrupted by the Deep Ones in their plan to destroy the Yggdrasil. Take this revelation back to Seyfried, though you can go as far as B16F before the game blocks you from further progress until you turn the mission in.

On top of this information, Seyfried will mention that Kujura has been searching for a flower called the Amarantos. It's poisonous to humans, but nourishment to the Deep Ones. This has all but confirmed Seyfried's suspicions.

You gain 8000en and each party member earns 20,000 EXP.

Locate the teleporter[]

There is a teleportation device in the Fourth Stratum that leads to the Porcelain Forest. I want you to find it so we can protect the city of Armoroad.

Reach the end of B16F to finish this mission. However, you'll be stopped by Kujura, who's going to secure the teleporter from the Deep City. Olympia will intercept him, and Kujura will summon Shin to slow down your efforts. Defeat Shin, collect the Moon Key from Olympia, advance into the Porcelain Forest, and then return to the Deep City to finish your mission.

You gain 13,000en, and each party member earns 25,000 EXP. The final mission becomes available immediately.

Hunt for the Porcelain Lady[]

The Princess hiding in the Porcelain Forest has been possessed by a Deep One and is no longer human. You must find her and slay her to keep Armoroad safe!

This is the final mission of the Deep City route. Seyfried will give you a Royal Seal to let you fully explore the Porcelain Forest. Go down to B20F to face the final boss. You'll turn your weapons on Gutrune, but Kujura will step in as your first opponent. Defeat him, and Gutrune will transform into the Deep Princess. Defeat the Deep One who's infiltrated Armoroad's ranks!

After watching the credits, return to the Deep City and turn the mission in. You gain 15,000en, and each party member earns 45,000 EXP. King Seyfried also rewards you with the Deep City Emblem (Accessory, +100 TP, +5 all stats) as proof of your service to the city. He denies having a sister who's lost to the Deep Ones, but wonders if there's a fault with his memories...

Armoroad Missions[]

Continue to report to Via Senatus to receive these missions. The Abyssal King will not be pleased at this decision, but you still have access to all facilities in the Deep City, especially subclassing.

Slay the Gatekeeper[]

Our agent Kujura has infiltrated the underground Labyrinth and reports of a gate leading to a deeper Stratum. Slay the guardian of that gate!

Continue exploring the Molten Caverns until you reach the central chamber of B12F. You'll meet with Kujura, who's been injured by the Gatekeeper. Step into the boss chamber, defeat the Gatekeeper, and advance into the Abyssal Shrine.

Kujura, despite his wounds, will forbid you to explore B13F until you've turned in the mission. Gutrune is pleased at your accomplishments and is confident on humanity's advancements. You receive 7000en and each party member earns 17,000 EXP, and you also receive the General Baton that permits you to recruit Shogun as new party members or use it as a subclass.

Search for Amarantos[]

Legends whisper of the Amarantos flower, which never wilts or loses its color. It may be found in the Abyssal Shrine; I need that flower to help the Princess.

Flowdia speaks of the Amarantos flower which can help alleviate the Princess's illness. Kujura informs you that this flower is located in the northern room of B15F. Search the center of the northern wall of the room to find it. You can go as far as B16F before you're forced to turn in the mission before you can progress.

As thanks for finding the Amarantos, the Princess will explain that she's devised various methods to prolong her life, all in an attempt to find her brother who's gone missing 100 years ago. She believes that the Yggdrasil has destroyed his memory and he no longer recognizes her.

You gain 8000en and each party member earns 20,000 EXP.

Locate the teleporter[]

It seems a teleportation device exists on the Fourth Stratum that connects to the Porcelain Forest. Find it before the denizens of the Deep City do!

Kujura reports that the Abyssal King is leading an army deeper into the Shrine in search of the teleporter. Gutrune is concerned that the Abyssal King may use it to enter the Porcelain Forest and threaten her safety. Reach the end of B16F to find that Olympia's beaten you to the punch. Kujura will engage her, while she summons Kirin to slow down your party. Defeat the boss, collect the Moon Key from Kujura, advance to the Porcelain Forest, and return to Armoroad to finish the misison.

You gain 13,000en, and each party member earns 25,000 EXP. The final mission becomes available immediately.

Hunt for the Abyssal King[]

The Abyssal King and his attendant Olympia have invaded the Porcelain Forest and seek to end the Princess's life. Find them and stop them!

This is the final mission of the Armoroad route. Flowdia will hand you a Royal Seal to let you fully explore the Porcelain Forest. Go down to B20F to face the final boss. Flowdia's already hid the Princess away, just as Seyfried arrives for his crusade. He turns his blade on you. Vanquish the Automaton King and his servant Olympia to ensure the Princess's safety!

After watching the credits, return to Armoroad and turn the mission in. You gain 15,000en, and each party member earns 45,000 EXP. Flowdia also rewards you with the Armoroad Emblem (Accessory, +100 HP, +5 all stats) as proof of your service to the city. Gutrune, however, is distraught that her brother is no more, and she no longer has a reason to maintain her immortality...

Eldest Path[]

To get to the best ending in the game, you need to do the following:

  1. Promise Olympia that you won't reveal the location of the Deep City.
  2. Tell Flowdia of the Deep City's location.
  3. Your choice of whether you want to side with Armoroad or Deep City.
  4. Visit Armoroad after reaching B14F to get the Sky Bowl from Kujura. Visit the Deep City to get the Star Shard from Olympia.
  5. Progress until you defeat the B16F boss. Turn in the "Locate the Teleporter" mission, but do not accept the final mission that shows up afterwards.
  6. Return to the Eldest One's room on B10F. You should be able to open it yourself with the Moon Key in tow. He will spurn you if you have accepted the final mission from either side.
  7. If all the conditions are met, he will speak with you. Tell him that your races can coexist. If you have the Sky Bowl and Star Shard, he will merge them to form the Porcelain Offering and mark you with the Uncanny Seal. This sets you on the road to the true ending.
  8. You will not have any missions to accept from either the Senatus or the Celestial Palace once this is done. Proceed to the end of the Porcelain Forest — the Uncanny Seal will allow you passage.
  9. Once Gutrune and Seyfried are restored with the Porcelain Offering, the Eldest One will beckon you to the depths of the Abyssal Shrine. The Uncanny Seal will now open a door on B16F that you cannot unlock on any other route. Travel to the end and defeat the Progenitor.

Do note that this path doesn't have a final mission. Your only reward for doing this path is access to the secret area in B16F and the unique drop from defeating the Progenitor.
