Petaloid
Surprise over the Petal Bridge! Fanart.
Kojiro SAdded by Kojiro S

Petaloids are dangerous creatures encountered within the forest. They are not physically strong, but their sleeper skill can put your entire party to sleep at once, making you highly vulnerable to physical attacks. Sometimes they may also try to attack you directly using their razor-sharp petals. Petaloids exist in every game to date.

Petaloids can be found patrolling the Primitive Jungle, and are first encountered on B8F. They aren't particularly dangerous by themselves, but can be a nightmare if together with powerful monsters since their Sleeper skill can leave your whole party powerless for several turns, especially if there is more than one petaloid within the enemy files.

As evidenced by their huge bulbs, Petaloids have found the perfect habitat around the upper levels of the Petal Bridge, where they prosper. Expect to meet several of these during your travels among the cherry blossoms.

They often appear accompanied by strong monsters, and their high appearance rate can be pretty dangerous when going through one of the many FOE-patrolled corridors.

They will usually be content with incapacitating your party for the other monsters to do the dirty job, but they are more than capable of giving a good fight should the need arise.

Conditional DropEdit

To get their Hazard Bud, you need to kill a Petaloid with an instant-death skill.

Petaloids live within the Porcelain Forest together with many other strange creatures. They are not too common and will not show themselves as often. However they are more than a match for even seasoned explorers because they are often accompanied by pretty strong monsters that will do tons of damage if your party succumbed to Sleeper, and their Petals are a pretty decent offensive skill.

Conditional dropEdit

To obtain their Dangerous Bud, you need to kill a Petaloid with an instant-death skill/attack.

The Petaloids are moderate enemies alone, but are more dangerous with other enemies, as they will use Sleeper to put your party to sleep, and then the other enemies will attack your party.

Initially, the flowers are closed, limiting its Sleeper to one party member; but upon taking damage the flowers open and increase Sleeper to party-wide and allows it use its Petals attack.

Conditional DropEdit

In order to get the Petaloid to drop the Dangerous Bud it must be defeated with an instant death skill, like a Nightseeker's Assassinate.
