Rovers, known as Hounds (ハウンド) in Japanese, are one of the new classes introduced in Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond the Myth. They have the ability to summon wolves or falcons and can perform attack skills, which the summon will follow up upon.
The Hound and Hawk have unique stat progressions that depend on the level of the Rover who summons them. They receive a bonus to their stats depending on the level of the summoning Rover's "Whistle" skill.

Hawks, if under no commands, will perform a ranged cut attack a random enemy, with a chance of binding its head.

Hounds, if under no command, will heal the most injured ally, determined at the start of the round. If everyone is at full health it will default to healing itself. Its normal attack, executed only when Target Arrow is being used, is a ranged bash attack that has a chance of binding the target's legs.
The Flying Falcon specializes further in skills that uses a hawk. The various skills that combines the hawk and bow have the power to hunt all types of monsters. Flying Falcons get a better HP, Strength, and Agility growth to improve their damage output.
- Strengths: Great ranged damage output, supplemented with the Hawk's high Luck being a good source of head binds.
- Weaknesses: Continued active use of skills can be draining on TP, especially when combined with the costs of Whistle skills.
The Hunting Hound specializes further in skills that uses a hound. By commanding a hound to heal and defend the party, they have the power to guide battles in your favor. Hunting Hounds have better TP, Vitality, Wisdom, and Luck growth to assist their support ability.
- Strengths: A good source of passive healing that can sustain the party in early levels without putting too much strain on their healer classes.
- Weaknesses: Low damage output when compared with that of the Flying Falcons, on-command healing is less reliable than that of a dedicated healer.
