The Shaman class is one of the ten currently known classes of Etrian Odyssey V. Blending the buff management capabilities of the Troubadours and the Sovereigns from previous games, Shamans function as a support class, aiding the party with prayers to their gods.
The Divine Punisher activates various effects by cancelling buffs and debuffs. Since there are steps that must be met to activate the skills, they have many powerful skills. Also receive better Intelligence and Agility growth to meet this end.
- Strengths: Incredible potential damage output once buffs are set. Focus on elemental Prayers makes for a good supplement to an elemental damage team. The only source of TP-restoring skills.
- Weaknesses: Element-based resistance switching requires awareness of the enemies' capabilities. Buff-cancelling skills require careful forward planning.
The Divine Herald excels in various buffs and healing skills. They are skilled in even more types of buff skills that heals that go along with said skills, and have better Vitality, Wisdom, and Luck.
- Strengths: Can prove to be a great defensive asset between defensive buffs, bestowing life drain effects, and passive regeneration.
- Weaknesses: Poor damage output alone. Skills are TP-intensive, and skill tree is skill point intensive, making them rather poor in the early game.
