Wanderer

Wanderer is a job class available only in Etrian Mystery Dungeon. They feel as home in the Mystery Dungeons, and they have skills to easily handle any situation in the dungeon, such as breaking walls, walking on water, or moving twice as fast. In their combat arsenal, they find themselves with ranged attacks, and skills designed to kill effectively one kind of enemy (such as "Plant" or "Dragon" enemies)

Overview Edit

The Wanderer is an offensive class, in the same vein as the Landsknecht, with a few distinctions. Firstly, you have multiple item point-related abilities. Second, is the various "Killer" abilities, which are aimed at dealing extra damage to most enemy classes in the game. They also have several mobility-related abilities that allow waterwalking and walking through walls. The Wanderer is a nearly self-sufficient class since it can fight well in close quarters, can boost its HP recovery rate to the point that items aren't needed outside of bosses, and heal its own ailments.

The Wanderer makes a nice filler unit for a team that can't find a good fourth, and is great if you're having trouble against specific bosses or enemies. It does have a significant drawback: its huge reliance on TP for most skills, meaning quick depletion of said TP. Those who understand how to properly use skills and TP in moderation (or those with deep pockets for Amritas) should be the ones to use this.

Favored Stats: Attack & Strength, mostly.

Blast Skill (Sudden Squall): Contrary to some of the bonus materials given with the game, the Wanderer does have a Blast Skill. This one just blows foes back.

Availability: Complete the mission given by the Magan to defeat the Stone Hulk at B7F of the Emerald Copse, the second dungeon.

  • This class is a direct reference to the Mystery Dungeon original character Shiren the Wanderer.
  • The design for the female Wanderer heavily resembles that of the pony-tailed female Ronin, and to a lesser extent the scowling, black-haired female Shogun.
